wards and heads, can't beat unique?

Any one have rare necro items that are better or comparable to uniques?

And what base ward do you use to make white RW?|||wand, not ward. ward is a shield.

i have a rare head that is nearly as good as homunc in every way except for base blocking %. i've seen more than a few pvp heads that beat out homunc.

depends on the build.|||Quote:

I think any wand except for wand and yew wand can have two sockets, so just find any other white base with 2 sockets, or Larzuk a white base if it has no sockets.

So I suppose the important consideration is the staffmods on the base wand. I chose to put the Dol and Io in a wand with +2 to revive, so that I could take advantage of the runeword's +skeletonmastery synergy to the revives and so that I didn't have to put any prerequisite points in the summon tree to get the revives. I believe many covet a base wand with +3 to bone spear. If you can get +1 or more to decrepify on the base that frees up curse tree prerequisite points as well.|||Well, a 2 nec/3*yourmainskill*+3someotherskill +3someotherskill deflecting 2os with another prefix and two more suffixes head would be pretty neat >.>

rares and magic > uniques and runewords, even if they are just a little worse imo

That's an impractical way to play though. But hey, i'm they guy with a kraken shell enigma just cause it's my favorite armor.|||I have brought dozens of character through hell in single player, and I have never find a good rare end-game necro item; nor could I find a shield that beat Moser, even though it's entirely possible.

I can't even get a good base wand for White. I spent hours shopping at dragon's, hoping to get a +3 skelen +3 bonespear wand. And all I got is a +3 bonespear +1 skele mastery, and another +2 bonespear +1 skelen. I am not sure which is better. The second one would increase my skele count by one.|||there can definitely be rares that can beat out uniques they are just very rare and very expensive.
