lower resist necromancer vs cows?

hi guys,

first of all, i havenot played much with necros

i plan to make my first high level necro. i want him to use vs hell cows. my plan is to make as many mages i can summon and give a infinity to fazel (a2 merc) and shamelessly cast lower resist and corpse explosion on cows.

equip: shako (skills), homunculus (obvious), trang claw and belt, vipermagi, sandstorm or marrowwalk, some nice rings and amulet, blackhand key or arm of leoric. no anni but a necro torch

merc will be infinity with prayer (?need suggestion on aura?)

skills: (not decided need help)

- max skeleton mage

- max skeleton mastery

- 1pt clay golem, revive, golem mastery, summon resist

- 1pt bone armor

- 1pt corpse explosion (it think 1pt is enough, i will have +10skills)

- max bone wall or bone prison, to keep cows away and keep my mages safe

- 1pt to lower resist and all preq for it

my major question is if my mages can survive in hell cows? i will try to keep them away with bone wall but can this tactic save them? cows might be attracted with revives maybe.

i dont think killing speed will be a problem with ~-60@ with lower resist and ~-80 with infi conviction, or will be?

you know, 1 corpse is enough for me to start chain massacre, corpse explosion.

there is only 1 guide in guides sticky which uses dual dream (something different). if there is some another guide related with lower resist/ske mage build please link it to me.

thanks|||My advice build yourself like a standard Summoner but switch your focus to upgrading the mages damage through lower resists and conviction then you will have some tanks to take the hits while mages do their thing.|||CE is 50/50 physical and fire. Lowering physical resist (-100%) by AD works better than lowering fire resist (-50%), as long as it makes getting a first corpse easier with merc only. Mages won't do any damage compared to CE, but skeleton warriors can stand a few hits while merc is doing the work.

Leoric is for initial summon only (on switch if you wish), for cowrunning i'd choose gull (isted alibaba) or hoto.|||Quote:

You have two good tanks (gumby and merc) so mages are quite safe there. Entering portal might be messy, but after couple corpses mages survive just fine.

Couple revives or attract curse are nice to have when you enter portal.

Might merc, so he can kill cows faster. He is your main killer anyway.

Should be fun build and you can respect later if you want to add normal skeletons. Good merc and mages are still good enough to start chain reaction.

Don't use those bone wall/prison. You have decrepify curse anyway if you merc has any trouble while killing cows. And put one point in attract-curse.

Attract one cow, use low curse for others. Rince and repeat.

Max CE, higher range is good to have in cow level.|||thanks for answers guys,

it is still possible to summon corpses (without killing of course) from pindleskin area, correct?

i thought mages could do good damage with -res aura/curse. a standard summoner might kill faster but i wanted to try a bit different thing

my aim was to hunt highrunes/socketables/flawlessgems etc, no MF. so killing speed (area clear speed) > everything else

it is time for more...experiments

|||They do fine damage especially with conviction/lower resist just use the skeles for tanks.|||It sounds like your making a Lich Lord build... Look it up in the Moldy Tome in the stickies|||Quote:

This. CE is definitely worth maxing or at least getting to 20+ with +skills. Each point in CE adds more area of damage than the last point, making those later points spent in CE worth more than earlier points.
