-Will I want more than 1 point in IG, GM, SR, and IG synergies?
-Will using an ethereal elite weapon instead of a normal weapon make a noticeable difference in his damage output?|||Level 1 IG is fine, adding levels only adds more Thorns damage and more defence. At least one in Golem Mastery and one in Summon Resist, and if you want it to live forever forever, then you'd probably need all 20 in Golem Mastery and Blood Golem.
But more realistically, just put 1 in each, and then summon a IK Stone Crusher IG and spend a couple of days with that. If you manage to keep that alive for a few days then go on with the 'Beast' IG. If it dies, consider dumping more points in GM and BG until you feel safe.
Using an ethereal elite weapon will increase its damage, but if you're a summoner and you'll have Skeleton Warriors running around with Revives on the side, then you won't notice much either way.|||i wouldn't recommend BG points, i don't remember how it is calculated but the life bonus from the synergy is almost worthless
if you want your IG to *really* not die, max out GM, carry enigma, and don't die yourself.
i had this setup and the only time my IG dropped in life was when it tanked baal's minions (last wave) for about 10 seconds|||BG adds 5%, GM adds 20%. 1 point GM = 4 points BG.|||Quote:
BG adds 5%, GM adds 20%. 1 point GM = 4 points BG.
BG only added to the base life. The number unmodified by difficulty IIRC. I can't find the thread right now, but the bonus is almost worthless and certainly not worth 20 points. Not even for an Immortal IG.|||Even if it adds to base life, the calculation still works out to 1 GM = 4 BG (Hell difficulty), no? An Iron Golem with 4 BG synergized will have the same life as an Iron Golem with 1 GM synergized, 8 BG = 2 GM, 12 BG = 3 GM, etc. in terms of life. Fully maxed out BG gives the same amount of life as 5 points of GM investment.
I agree, BG is not worth it as IG will also get more life with +Skills to GM, but if you have nothing else to pump, fully synergised BG = level 22 BO.|||Golems have the following base life:
Code:
GOLEM BASE LIFE
Normal Nightmare Hell
-----------------------------------
Clay 100 175 275
Blood 201 388 637
Iron 306 595 980
Fire 313 613 1013
Clay Golem life is then increased by (35*(lvl-1))%: level 21 Clay Golem (+700%) therefore has 2,200 life in Hell.
The sum of +% life from Golem Mastery (20*lvl) and the Blood Golem synergy (5*blvl) is then applied: level 20 GM (+400%) would give level 21 CG 11,000 life in Hell; investing 20 points in BG (+100%) as well would apply +500% life in total, giving level 21 CG 13,200 life in Hell.
Contrary to the Necromancer Pet Calculator, +% life from Battle Orders and Oak Sage is not added to the sum of +% life from GM and BG, it's applied afterwards: casting level 16 BO (+80%) on that level 21 CG gives it 23,760 life, not 14,960 life. It does accurately calculate Golem life before BO and OS are applied, though.
With a prerequisite point in BG and one point in GM with +22 skill bonuses, an Iron Golem will have 5,537 life in Hell; investing 19 more points in GM will result in 9,261 life; investing 19 more points in BG after that will result in 10,192 life. So another 19 points in GM increases life by approximately 67%, but another 19 points in BG after that only increases life by approximately 10%.|||I have been itching to try an ethereal fortitude golem. It would be like 100% immune to all

I've been considering this for a while, I think I'm gonna go for it, respec and pump points into iron golem, mastery, resist and blood golem. Then go to the skill shrine, equip all that godly summon gear and drop the axe from your switch weapon (since your inventory is FULL of gc skillers right?) and make yourself a godly friend...
ofc in the real world you may not have that many skillers, but the rest is worth it imo. After all, you have a beast and eni you gotta be sure enough of your build not to have wasted those respecs/need them later...
wait, would the IG die when you respecd back again?! Maybe you'd need a wand with +to IG as well for the second respec...
