Iron Golem disappearing?

Is it just me, or does your iron golem sometimes disappear when making/joining a new game? I know for a fact that it didnt die in a previous game.

This has never happened to me before until this past week, which may have something to do with the recent bnet server troubles.

Anyone have this happen to them lately? This is making me rethink using an insight golem |||I never thought ig would disappear after leaving a game. I thought he had to die. Somebody else can help you out better than me.|||Its a known occurrence but its not too frequent and its happened to me quite a few times over the years.
