Hello all. New to the forum and new to Diablo II (after about 5 or 6 years). Decided to make a necro because I have never made one before. So far I am loving every second of it.
I have the basic skill set up so far...
20 RS
20SM
20CE
currently maxing RSM
1 in most curses so far... i have Amp, Dec, and DV, will have 1 pt in all eventually.
I am currently level 70 as is my Might Merc. Just made it to Hell and I am wondering where I should start MFing. I tried doing Countess runs and they take FOREVER. Is there a better place to start getting some hefty drops? I really want to get my Enigma... I feel like nothing will be able to stop me after I get that, lol.
Thanks for the help in advance!|||Quote:

Welcome to forum.
Try Pits (cave in act1, TC85 area, so all (almost) items can drop there).
You get good exp there too, until lvl90.|||You can spend the following 15 levels in the Pits (1,2 lvl under Tamoe highland), virtually every item can drop here (however the chances are few), along with the yammie sparkling chest at the end of it. I don't really think the Pits to be a MF-solution for necromancer: it might be, but WSK 2 is simply better and probably of the same ease. but if those gloams get you, revert to Pits.
By the way, many have changed since 1.09, and 600mf-running is no more "better" than 100/200+. Most elite eth socketed items largely dropped from fallens and zombies could have even higher prices than some uniques (each eth dusk/ap is a possible 3-4ist ebug, eth baxes and poles are sold out in a flash too), so boosting MF thoughtlessly does no good. Thus, doing a run with 150-200 mf (this is, probably, ptopazed shako, chance gloves and gull/alibaba) is going to give you more than a one with mf 500+.|||Thanks a ton gents!!|||I find 300-400 mf tends to give me more favorable results.
However, I get countless rares with @ 200.|||Hmm, I definitely need to get some better mf stuff then. I barely have any. I just really dont want to sacrifice most of my plus skills because I feel like I need as many skeletons as I can get.
I have a shako, chance guards, a gheed's charm, and an ali baba (weapon switch). Where else should I get MF?|||You can try nagel rings and wartravs. Also you can get a gold wrap for pgems; thats 30% more right there.
I normally Mf with mid 200's really since I don't like to sacrifice alot of eq for just mf'ing...more so since after 300's..the returns are negliable at best.
If you want a sizable boost to mf to free up eq; you could go with a skullders armor; will grant you a sizable chunk to your mf in case you need other slots for eq.
As for mf area's...it depends..I do perfer more open type area's like cows or wsk,etc..more so if you don't have a enigma...because trying to lug around choppy a.i skellies can be a pain.
In your case starting hell; Pits is a ok choice; you could move to AT(ancient tunnels) when you get to act 2 too keep with the high Tc to find items in and keep ok exp rates.
Hang in there though mate; I got my enigma recently for my necro and im in love; so its worth the wait to save for it :P|||Until I got enigma, my fishy used a Tal's armor (PTopaz) which gives 88 mf and some good resists. Really Enigma/Tal's Armor, Shako, Ist Ist Ali Baba and a Gheeds is all you need to get to around 350 mf.|||I'm thinking about just throwing in 5 perfect topazes into an armor and using that for pits for awhile. I'll lose +2 skills from my Trangs but I'm not having much luck in the drops area.
Thanks for all the suggestions though guys. I really appreciate it. I am still really enjoying my necromancer. I had got a sorc up to 85 right before I started my necro and I HATED using her. It was boring and she just couldn't do anything (I blame my playing style mostly though, haha)
