Game crash issues only with Nec

[:1]This ladder I have a Paladin and Nec, but am experiencing the game crashing to desktop with only the Nec.

I usually have just enough time to gather my skellies and then everything just crashes to the desktop with no error codes. I have to restart Diablo.

I have absolutely no problems with the Paladin.

Anybody else run across this?|||I've run summoners for three ladders and a bonemancer with some revives in a fourth and never noticed anything like this.

I've heard of (rare) lag issues for older systems with a summoner but never ctds.|||the last time i had an issue with crashing similar to yours i uninstalled d2 and reinstalled it and it was fine.|||Yeah, I did the old standby and re-installed. There really isn't any information on my issue - which leads me to think that I is hardware related. After checking everything I really don't have the faintest.

It is really a weird problem. I made it all the way to NM act 4 or so before I started experiencing the issue. I was able to stay connected or reconnect just long enough to beat baal, but now I can't even make it out of the first act in Hell. I have given up playing the Nec and instead am back to the old reliable Hammer.

that was going to be my next question.

older systems have troubles with lots of "things" going on on-screen at the same time. that's why you always used to hear people *****ing about summoners and the summoners would reply "get a new comp"|||My computer is probably 2.5 years old now. 4 gig memory and a video card. Sounds kind of old, but I have been playing somewhat continuously for the past 3 ladders and I have always had a fishymancer. Could be hardware related in that when I put a full load (10 skellies etc.) is when the crash occurs. Must be an error in my memory or CPU memory that only occurs when it is taxed.

Good suggestion about the poisonmancer. I haven't ever played it because I was always concerned about the Hell immunes, but I will give it a try.

thanks again,|||I had crashing issues recently as well. It first started happening every time Diablo spawned. As soon as diablo entered my screen i crashed. It then started happening again at random areas. re-install did not fix it but restarting my comp did. I crash every once in a while still but it is infrequent and there does not seem to be any situational pattern. If you have not tried re-booting your comp i suggest giving it a shot. virus scan as well.
