I'm a noob so bear with me.
Would an act 1 merc with Faith bow be a as good or better than a might Merc?
Also, If I had a might merc with a pride polearm, would the might and concentration damage increase stack?
thanks =)|||Yes the act 2 merc's natural aura stacks with the auras given by their equipment, which is another reason why every gets them.
Lately I have been thinking of making a summonmancer equipped with Beast(as a secondary weapon of course, I could replace it with Faith, but then I would lose my shield and I only play Hardcore so that is a big NO unless I happen to play supremely carefully.) with a Might Merc equipped with Infinity, and an Iron Golem made out of Pride. ^_^
My only problem tho is that Pride is expensive and I would then have the fear of losing my Golem, so I might have to wait til I get Enigma so I don't have to worry about it dieing... as much.|||Faith would work and Might/Pride would stack, but they're not very good options. Skeletons do obviously contribute a lot of damage, but your most important corpse-maker is the merc. Bow mercs just can't put out that much damage and Pride isn't an option because it has no enhanced damage on it. Ideally then, you want an A2 Might merc with something like Obedience, Infinity or BOTD in an eth elite polearm.|||The faith merc isn't going to be able to kill bosses for you nearly as well as a might merc can, with an infinity or obedience. If you want fanaticism, and you can afford faith, you can afford beast. That way you get might AND fanaticism.
The damage from pride does stack with the damage from might (it adds, it doesn't multiply) but infinity or even obedience is still better. Your skeletons do some damage, and that's fine, but your merc does most of the work. He kills monsters, you corpse explode them. The skeletons are mostly just there to stand in the way of arrows and axes, so gearing around increasing their damage sort of misunderstands the build, IMHO*.
More to the point, if you're a noob as you say, don't worry about the high end gear options. You don't need them, and can't afford them anyway. The big attraction of a skelemancer is that it's good without any gear. Skelemancers are always my first character on a new ladder, you just wear whatever you find, and you kill everything just dandy.
*with tons of +summoning skills and whatnot you actually can make the skeletons do decent damage, but it barely matters, in most situations your merc will get a couple corpses ready for you in no time.|||Quote:

eek, I do insight iron golems, pride is spendy, insight costs nothing, plus hey, insight.
Also how did this forum all of a sudden get busy enough that 2 people responded while I was typing my response?

If you ever use Beast, make it your main weapon and buff gear or cta-spirit as secondary. Beast is probably the most effective aura ever and you can probably sacrifice whatever your weapon slots adds in favor of pure killing speed, though it can be costy to replace say fcr and allres from hoto with other gear.
