My plan is to cast iron maiden on the surrounding mobs and then cast attract on Nihla, then CE the mobs as they kill themselves. Is this build an option?|||Attract won't work on Nihlathak or any super unique monster.

As Evil said, Attract won't work. Also, Iron Maiden gives lackluster damage in Hell difficulty and won't kill anything very fast.
Dim Vision/Terror will probably do a better job of keeping Nihla's minions at bay.|||Thanks for the feedback guys. I just thought it would be a great build with little +skills demand allowing for some serious gear tinkering. Back to the drawing board, I guess.|||As a necro you never want to kill nilathek unless you make sure you do not get the waypoint.|||I think I read about someone using Confuse on the monsters around Nihlathak to make them attack him, and thereby making him attack them, and also teleport away from them. I never did it myself though. I usually kill his minions and other monsters from a safe distance and then explode them from the same safe distance. Don't need much equipment for that if you go with an explosionmancer, and a rogue merc will stay safe from the physical poison clouds while also shooting through bone walls/prisons. Might not be fast enough to compete with an assassin though.|||The easiest way to kill nilathak is to simply stay back and have your minions/merc get a corpse. As soon as the first one drops, you click CE as fast as you can and 999/1000 times everything in the universe will die before nilathak can blink.
I did this one ladder after stupidly getting the waypoint. Figured I may as well run the bugger.|||Quote:

Presumably for the easy access to corpses in the garden when you go through the portal. You can easily get all/most of your normal skellies up before they wake up and attack you. Plus Pindleskin is an easy as run.
I used to run Nihlathak and personally found it quite easy, so long as you drop one of his before they get out of hand on your minions you can spam CE and hopefully take the corpses out before he does. I regularly killed him with CE before getting close (needs to be a pretty high level though, mine was maxed for my mf running necro, plus decent +skiller items)
Those snakes though...IIRC the only thing I did with them was pray and make sure I kept an eye out for them. They're not fun.|||Ahh thanks for that.
Yeah I must admit, I found a strange sense of justice in taking him out with CE. It seemed pretty fitting.
