poison build for solo

Is there a recommended poison build to play through the game by myself? I have a shotty internet connection right now and thought I'd try to give single player a go for a while.

Thanks!|||Sure is, I personally like full Trang's set socketed with poison facets and with a Death's Web in hand. You can actually do even better with partial Trang's set and Bramble runeword armor. Max Poison nova and all synergies, I think I used some skeleton warriors as meat shields and maxed their mastery. Probably a clay golem too, don't think I put any more than one point in the golem or mastery. /players 8 was no problem, so with lesser gear the game still be doable. Check the single player forum pat/mat compilation thread for some nice poison necro patriarchs and their setups.|||Start out as a pure summoner till you reach 30+ then respec to poison.|||I exclusively play single player and never respec - I'm old school.

I recently killed Hell Baal with a poisonmancer. I started by using Poison Dagger which provides plenty of killing power early on with a Defiance merc and clay golem, as long as you are patient. Run around and stab each monster once while they're distracted. Use every curse in your bag.

By the time you hit 30 and get Nova and Lower Resist, you'll start really dropping things fast.

Lower Resist and Poison Nova do very well; Decrepify and your merc's physical damage will have to take of immunes.

I finished the game using Blackbogs as my weapon, Trangs gloves, belt and shield (gives -25% poison which is huge), Peasant Crown, Lionheart, a magic amulet and rare rings. Not high end gear by any means. I made up extra resistance with charms.

Personal note: I have been playing this game since it came out in 2000. I never MF because I find it boring. 4 years after finding an OHM, I found a SUR the other day and could finally make Bramble. Hell Diablo also dropped me a +5% / -3% poison facet the other day, also my first facet ever. Go figure.

I swapped Lionheart for Bramble, Peasant Crown for Andariels Visage which I somehow found, and a rare prismatic amulet with +2 poison and bone.

20 in all 3 poison skills

15 and 15 in Clay Golem and Golem Mastery

1 in almost every curse

I'm doing pretty ridiculous damage. Even in Act 5 hell, anything that isnt poison immune will die in 2 novas - not counting bosspacks of course. Also, Firewall which you get from Trangs set is surprisingly useful for poison immunes!
