AoKL vs. Beast 4 Summoner

Definitely AoKL for summons but which one for main? Fana looks stylish, imho.|||hold beast. raise the dead with aokl, or if you are lazy just raise the dead with cta or hoto, but keep an aokl in stash to raise dead for things like ubers.|||I prefer hoto for the fcr, but only because it hits a breakpoint (oh and oak sage, it dies fairly often, have to summon 2/3 across a megamfrun (hitting all mf zones, keys, bosses etc)...

Beast to hold but frankly it's expensive for what it is, stick with aokl or hoto as a preference, especially since aokl has the nasty ctc bone prison : /|||Just stick with hoto. Benefit your fcr, skills, and resist. Beast is horrible on summon necro.|||Beast is just not needed to be honest and should be last thing on a summoners shopping list.

Hoto gives a better defensive edge and when you have enough +skills Aokls extra 2 skills dont really make a difference on top end equipment.|||i think mad mantis said it first, but beast is the most overrated item on a necro summoner

Only overrated if you don't have one :o|||Beast is useful only in /p +4 games where you need to rely on your minions. Hoto is nr 1 for everything else.|||Quote:

you lose resists, cast rate (teleport, corpse explosion), curse aoe, have to take up inventory slots...

the IAS bonus doesn't work well on skeletons, the bonus damage is puny compared to might/concentration, the merc ends up killing first corpse anyway...

i could go on, but when i used beast/pride IG/infinity might merc, i found that the low fcr was more of a hassle than the coolness of having many auras.

the faster you can curse the screen, CE everything, then teleport to your next destination determine how fast your MF runs are far more than the miniscule overkill extra damage from beast.
