Summoner and gear.

hi guys!

What gear is the most common for a enigma summoner? I am really lacking resist and with my very offensive play i often get feel that i am getting hit way to much and are in danger.

So, what gear are you currently using when telestomping -> amp -> ce? for fast kills?

My gear right now:

Shako

Enigma

crafted +2 necro with cast rate amu

cast rate ring x2

Homunculus

arm of king leoric

magefist

marrowalks

With this set up i am really lacking in resist, but i meet the cast rate req (my first priority).

I was thinking about swapping the arm of king leoric with Hoto but dunno. I use CoA/spirit on switch.

I have not socket anything yet. I will do that but before i start socketing i wanted to know if i should replace some of the gear.

I play a summoner with the basic fishy stats. I went the bone spirt route and are doing 1200 dmg with it.. Its nice to spam while waiting for my merc/skellies to kill a boss. I am not really sure if i like it all that much and might go back to mages.

Oh! and i a have max block with the homunculus.

Cryton|||Do you mind posting FULL skill layout? In my opinion you should never go with a bone skill (other than CE that is.,,) when playing a fishy.

Also post your merc's gear, so we can analyze it.

I noticed you did not mention your belt. Arach is the only real choice there.

How much does the amulet give you FCR?

If it gives atleast 10 fcr, you will hit the 125 fcr bp with a hoto.

Can I presume you meant CTA on the switch? I doubt you can wield a Crown of Ages in your weapon slot.|||hoho, you are absolutely right That was alot of errors in my post.

Ofc i mean CTA and not CoA I have arach ofc in the belt slot. The amulet sadly only gives me 8 fcr but with the gear i have i reach the 75% breakpoint.

I am not sure what my skill layout and even my merc has to do with my resist problem here.. Its basically a fishy build with maxed bone spirit and the rest dumped in bone spear for a tad more dmg. For my merc i can choose from two set ups and thats infi or insight, duress or treachery, guiliumes or vamp gaze (both with ias jewels).|||Infy / treachery & gaze would be the best combo of those. Also, in my opinion, the best fishy skill layout is 20RS, 20SM, 20RSM, one point to rest of the summoning skills except on fire golem, 20 points in CE, 1 point in bonewall and prereqs (4 points), 1p on the curse tree. Rest of the points should be dumped in either revive or bone armor synergy.|||And i would disagree. Both with the build and the merc. But thats a whole other discussion.

I am NOT askting for build help or even how to dress up my merc. IF you read my first post again and even my title you will get a clue on what i asked help on...|||Hmm i'm not sure if fcr is that important for a summoner.. for my summoner my priority was as many +skills as possible, followed by getting my resists as high as possible. Never bothered about fcr.

For resists, maybe you could get a mara's to replace your ammy? And a rare glove with nice resist would help too.|||Really? so you are tping with 0 cast rate?

Im tele-ing with 20 fcr from my trang gloves lol.. personally, i find it good enough. I have minions to take hits for me if i tele into trouble

Plus i like clearing areas so i'm in no real hurry to rush to the stairs.

And i use teleport more for controlling my minions actually.. Plus i'm not too keen with 10 frames per cast of teleport. I find it slow and dangerous if i were to do blind teleporting

Not that more fcr is a bad thing, but i'm not keen on sacrificing resists and stronger summons for that

From my experience, i feel that the safe number of frames per teleport to aim for is 8, which a sorc can attain easily.. Something a necro cannot achieve, regardless of gear.|||I guess its more a personal style of play but i am really aggressive. I blind tp alot and just spamming amp, ce, (and a occasional dim vision in wsk) then rince and repeat. More kills equals more drops is my motto:P hehe.

I have almost played exclusively sorcs in the past so fast tping, for me, is a must

The safe teleport is more then just cast rate imo. Faster hit recovery, max block/faster block rate, resist, damage reduction, minions (necros). In my experience is anything that can help avoiding hit recovery important.

I have question for you sticker. What gear are you currently using? so i can compare. Do you have maxed resists?|||Almost all my resists are maxed... just lacking a bit of poison resist, which can be solved with a 7 or 8% poison res sc :P.

This is my gear(no call to arms yet ):

Helm : shako

Weapon: AOKL

Armour: Mageplate enigma(i get to keep base str)

Shield: pdiamond homunculus

Belt: IK belt for resist. Would use an arachnid if i manage to find one:P

Boots: marrowalk

Gloves: trang gloves

Amulet: mara's.

Rings: depends. Sometimes i go for + skills from soj or maybe ravenfrost or dwarf star for absorb.

I've got a bunch of small charms giving resists. Plus a low necro torch that gives 12 resist all i think.

Currently i use my necro to do organ runs while my sorc does the keyhunting

For skills i went max RS, SM, RSM, CE. 1 point in all curses.
