I can raise 18 skeletons and 18 mages and around 30 revives with the 1 point in revive investment.
I have no probelm dealing with any area in the game, including solo uber trist in 8 player game (slow and mages will die). If I raise more 15+ revives, hell Baal goes down in less than 10 seconds.
The only problem I had is sometimes when I spam CE the mana runs out. I hate to use pots. I know I can use insight on merc, but with my test, the skeles and mages kills noticibly faster with infinity. I am thinking maybe switching the 2 BK for 2 Sojs but I do like the 26xx life I have after BO. I haven't died once since level 75 after I put my torch on.
At this point, I feel I kind of reach the bottle neck of further improving the char. Any suggestions? Don't tell me to use beast over hoto, the skeles already kill very fast and I like the +3 all skills + 40 resist all boost and better FCR brought by Hoto.
I learned a lot from this board and I want to say thank you to all of you guys. Necro is awsome!!!!!!!!!

You took a minus 1 for using marrows instead of something actually useful such as hotspurs or waterwalks. (See the pet calculator and how little difference +2 mastery makes when you have very high levels of raise skeleton).
You also took a minus 1 for using andariels on your mercinary instead of guillame's. (necro merc's dont need life leech when you have 1 point lifetap to cast when needed).
Although I didn't deduct a point, use beast after you summon with hoto or aokl. (Again see pet calculator and look at the frames that skele warriors and mages attack with and without fanaticism. It's rather dramatic.).|||Quote:

Good point!

I was using guillame's face before I switched to the Raled eth andy. I notice my merc kills much faster with andy probably due to the +20 IAS. And I assume the +2 skill will help boost the might aura and conviction auraas well. I am not sure about this. If I can get my hands on a 15IAS/40ED jewel and stick that into the guillame's face, I guess the merc's should kill better than with Andy. BTW, the merc is doing 11K damage and is a pure killing machine. He only dies to Iron Maiden and the bugged viper at Nilthak's vault. Believe me, lifetap is not need even when he was wearing guillame's face and had no leeching source.

I tried the beast, not very impressed. I hate losing skeles when switch and also losing huge resist and FCR just for that not very high fana aura. The skele kills a little faster but I don' think it's worth the benefit I lost from HOTO. Pluse I like to use CTA on switch for myself and the merc and the aura looks very cool on all your minion. I do know the CTA doesn't help the skeles much, but they never die anyway. The mages will die even after BO from time to time. There's not much you can do about it. But they do seem to do some not too crappy damage when the merc is holding infinity. Well, I still miss the time when my merc was using a 930 damage Eth CV insight when I can spam CE like crazy

This is my first necro build. I am glad I got most part right thanks to information I learned here. I know my build is by no means cheap but I just like the feeling that I have no fear at all for anything in the game. I have another Zealer/1 point smiter char which cost probably even more. But when I see those O knights and bugged vipers I still shiver

good build

I would never ever max golem mastery or put more than 1 pt in it.
I would instead sink those points into dim vision which is vastly more useful.|||Quote:

dim vision isn't necessarily useful. he seems wealthy, with high level minions, so i doubt dying and killing are matters that need addressing. with golem mast., if he made a pride or something, he'd run less risk of it getting killed before he can react.|||Quote:
simple way to solve ur mana problem is use a insight iron golem. It dont have to be good weapon. use any none eth 4 os polarm and make one. Its not like u can use him to damage anything :o.
I tried that and already lost 2 insight golems, both to the poison vipers in Nilthak's valught. I like to run Nil for keys and other stuff. I was be careful and still those bugged poison fog got him instantly. And finding space to store 4os polem becomes annoying after a while. I agree if I can keep him alive, this is an ideal solution.|||Quote:

nah, i am far from be called wealthy

Dim vision is useful at worldstone when I do baal runs. However, with 1 point invested in dim vision, I already got level 23 dim vision which is quite sufficient. Plus, I noticed after now travel with 34 skeles and golem and merc, those peskey lighting golems didn't actually hurt me any more. So I don't even use it now. I found it more useful for mid levels.|||Quote:
Enigma and Pride golem would be a good addition if you ever get that tweaked out other than that I enjoy looking at another person who maxed CE its sick.
good build

However, I am against making iron golem out of expensive runeword. I would be pissed he died which happens frequently or just poofed on me for no reason. If I would to do it, it will make me too intense when playing worrying about little rusty all the time, not relaxing, not good...
